Escuchar tu música favorita le sienta bien a tu corazón

Que suene la melodía de nuestras canciones preferidas no solo tiene efectos beneficiosos sobre el estado de ánimo. También mejora la función endotelial en pacientes con enfermedad arterial coronaria, sobre todo si se escucha mientras se practica ejercicio físico, tal y como exponía Marina Deljanin durante la última reunión de la Sociedad Europea de Cardiología. En los experimentos llevados a cabo por Deljanin, luna serie de sujetos escucharon música durante 30 minutos diarios mientras realizaban un entrenamiento aeróbico supervisado. Transcurridas tres semanas, se comprobó que, en comparación con quienes durante ese mismo tiempo solo oían música o aquellos que únicamente hacían ejercicio, la combinación de ambas «terapias» obtuvo mejores resultados en el aumento del óxido nítrico y de otros vasodilatadores que disminuyen la resistencia vascular y mejoran la salud cardíaca.

Según Deljanin, este efecto de la música se explica porque las endorfinas que secretamos en el cerebro al disfrutar de una canción activan el óxido nítrico, que dilata los vasos aumentando el caudal de sangre. Y recomienda combinarla con el entrenamiento físico que habitualmente se usa para rehabilitar a pacientes con enfermedades coronarias. Eso sí, Deljanin advierte que «no hay una música ideal para todos, y que cada paciente debe escoger cuál aumenta sus emociones positivas y le hace sentir feliz».
