Cómo crece el bebé
El bebé está en sus etapas finales de crecimiento, pesando más de 2,5 kilos y midiendo casi 50 centímetros. Además, perderá el vello y la sustancia cerosa que lo protegían del líquido amniótico durante los nueve meses en el cuerpo de la madre.
Al finalizar la semana, el bebé ya será considerado a término, y probablemente ya esté cabeza abajo, para colocarse en el canal de parto. Si no es así, el médico puede realizar maniobras para intentar que se ponga en esta postura.
Todos los sistemas del cuerpo de tu bebé -excepto el sistema digestivo y los pulmones- están plenamente desarrollados. Los huesos del cráneo del bebé permanecen separados para hacer más fácil el parto.
Sentiremos cada vez menos patadas y golpes, porque el niño se moverá menos.
Cómo cambia la vida de la madre
Para empezar, al estar el bebé ocupando la mayor parte del espacio en nuestro organismo, realizar una comida completa nos será difícil. Lo ideal es hacer varias comidas pequeñas para recibir todos los nutrientes y no sentir hambre. Además, sentiremos más ganas de eructar y tendremos más gases, incluso estreñimiento, por lo cual deberemos evitar alimentos que nos produzcan flatulencias y comer fibra.
Como el bebé está por comenzar a acomodarse para nacer -sobre todo si es tu primer hijo-, sentirás menos presión para respirar, pero te será más dificultoso caminar y tendrás más ganas de orinar. Todo estos síntomas son lógicos, ya que el útero llega a los 16 centímetros por encima del ombligo y hemos engordado aproximadamente 15 kilos.
Podemos comenzar a sentir contracciones, aunque el trabajo de parto no comienza hasta que las contracciones duran un minuto, se producen cada cinco, y se prolongan durante más de una hora. De todas formas, debemos consultar con el obstetra ante cualquier duda.
El flujo vaginal aumenta, a veces podremos tener un poco de sangre luego de tener relaciones sexuales o un examen vaginal, ya que en la semana 36 de embarazo el cuello del útero estará muy sensible.
El estiramiento de la piel del abdomen puede provocarnos picazón y tirantez. Nos será de gran utilidad las cremas con manteca de cacao o vitamina E.
Los tobillos se hinchan porque las mujeres embarazadas retienen mucho líquido. Incluso las manos o la cara pueden verse afectadas.
En la semana 36 de embarazo, dormir se convertirá en una odisea. No solo por la enorme panza que tenemos, sino también porque sufriremos de más calor. Si también sentimos incomodidad en los pechos por la noche, podemos utilizar ya sostenes de lactancia.
La energía puede caer en picada -lo cual es lógico- o sufrir un pico de energía conocido por el instinto de anidamiento, en el que queremos tener todo listo para la llegada del bebé.
Debemos tener especial cuidado con la preeclampsia -hipertensión y proteína en la orina-.
Preparativos para el parto
En este momento, ya sabemos que le falta poco tiempo al bebé, y que pronto nos veremos envueltas en una rápida carrera al hospital. Por eso, la semana 36 es ideal para organizar las cosas, y tener en cuenta que no debemos olvidar:
- La tarjeta de seguro médico, si en tu país tienen una
- Cubrepezones, ya que estaremos amamantando y la leche podría escaparse
- Compresas femeninas de gran absorción
- Ropa -preferentemente, la que usabas cuando estabas embarazada de seis meses-
- Asiento de coche para el bebé
- Pañales
- Ropa para el recién nacido
