Establece una comunicación adecuada y continua. Llama al niño por su nombre; habla en voz baja pero con firmeza para ganar y mantener su atención. Utiliza el mismo conjunto de instrucciones cada vez de modo que hacer contacto visual se convierta en una rutina.
Elogia al niño cuando haga contacto visual. Habla alentadamente y proporciona la recompensa deseada una vez que hace lo querías. Con el tiempo, el niño puede acostumbrarse a interactuar contigo de esta manera de modo que sólo sea parte de su rutina en la comunicación que tiene hacia ti.
